FAQs for members
How do I update my credit card details and is it secure?
Your credit card details are not stored on the SPUMS website but securely held on the payment platform Stripe. Stripe maintains a PCI DSS Level 1 standing, which is the highest security level a payment processor can hold, it offers bank-grade security and encryption when storing credit cards on their servers.
If you need to update your credit card details due to an expired or replacement card, follow these simple instructions:
- Log in to your account.
- Navigate to the “My Account” tab, located at the top right.
- Select “My Subscriptions” from the menu.
- Click on “Update Credit Card” to enter and save your new credit card details. This will update in Stripe.
Make sure your new card details are correct, and your subscription will continue without interruption.
Why is there a price rise each year?
We try to keep membership costs as low as possible, but each year the price increases (by approximately $20 Full members, $10 Retired, Student and Associate members and $40 Educational institutes) to help cover the expenses of running the ASM and publishing the Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine journal.
Can I update my details myself?
Yes you can log in and access your account via My Account on the top right menu of the site.
What happens if my membership lapses?
If your membership lapses - your account will go into an expired state, but your account will not be removed from the site. You will need to contact our Web Manager for access again. Email:
